Ivan Petrović-Poljak was born in Zagreb on the 14th of July, 2004. He began his music education at the age of 8 with Prof. Vesna Fretze. Prof. Olga Cinkoburova was his high school teacher, and since 2022, he has been studying with Prof. Ruben Dalibaltayan. Some of Ivan’s recent competition results include: Category winner of the Isidor Bajic competition, Novi Sad, Serbia (12.2022) Category winner of the Radovljica international piano competition, Slovenia (11.2022) Winner of the national selection for the Eurovision Young Musicians contest International competition Liszt-Bartok, Sofia (12.2020), Bulgaria (online), category winner, special prize for Liszt interpretation International competition Young Virtuoso, Zagreb (02.2020), Croatia, category winner, special prizes for Liszt and Bach interpretations Virtuosi per musica di piano forte, Usti nad Labem (11.2019), Czech Republic; first prize and the special prize for Liszt interpretation Ivan has also given numerous solo recitals throughout Europe and performed with philharmonic orchestras, including the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Croatian National Television Orchestra, Budapest Dohany Orchestra, and Radio France Orchestra. He is a scholarship holder of the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein, where he attends intensive training weeks with Prof. Ruben Dalibaltayan and Prof. Milana Chernyavska. He has participated in seminars led by world-renowned professors such as Natalia Trull, Naum Grubert, Julia Gubaydullina, Alexander Strukov, and others.
