Alexander Sahatci was born in Zurich in 2006 into a family of musicians. At the age of 5, he began learning the piano with Bianca Medici-Bärtschi. From 2014 to 2020, he received instruction from Tamara Kordzadze at the Youth Music School Pfannenstiel and the Conservatory of Zurich. Since 2021, he has been a student of Mischa Cheung in the PreCollege Program at the Zurich University of the Arts, and since 2022, he has also been studying with Prof. Roberto Giordano. He has taken part in various masterclasses with professors such as A. Weber, L. Margarius, V. Samoshko, E. Pace, P. De Maria, W. Fong, A. Malikova, N. Fisher, and Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden. From 2020 to 2022, he regularly attended classes with Prof. Margarius and Prof. R. Giordano at the Accademia Pianistica "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola. Alexander made his debut as a soloist in November 2017 with the Franz Schmidt Chamber Orchestra at the Festsaal of the Palace of Justice in Vienna. In January 2019, he performed at the Temple du Bas in Neuchâtel, and in December 2019, he played as a soloist with the orchestra at the Theater Zandonai in Rovereto, commemorating the 250th anniversary of W.A. Mozart‘s first concert in Italy. He has won prizes at both national and international piano competitions, including the 1st prize cum laude at several events of the Zurich Music Competition and the Swiss Youth Music Competition (e.g., 2019, 2021, 2023), as well as the Steinway Piano Competition Switzerland 2023.
